The Manitoba Forage & Grassland Reference Manual was revised July 2008. It contains information that is specific to forage production, harvesting, storing, feeding and marketing as well as pasture and grazing management. It also covers many topics including variety selection, grazing systems, livestock management, pasture equipment, and economics. The CD is available for $10.
Manitoba PEAQ Stick Tape
This Predictive Equation for Alfalfa Quality (PEAQ) Tape was developed for Manitoba growers by the Manitoba Forage Council, MAFRI, and Greencover Canada. It is an extremely useful aid for estimating your alfalfa quality. The tape is approximately 36 inches long with a table on the side to help determine the quality of your alfalfa stand using height and stage of maturity.
