Manitoba Forage Council Extension Materials

New extension materials are constantly being developed by different agencies throughout North America. Much of this information may be quite relevant to the Manitoba situation with some modification. It could be adapted to the Manitoba web sites or printed as a hard copy. Hard copy format is usually more expensive, Web site information may be readily printed depending upon the need of the information.

Topics could be items such as:
•    FACT sheet on feed quality of Manitoba forages
•    FACT sheet on methods of assessing pasture productivity
•    FACT sheet on the identifying pasture grass and forb species
•    Developing grass-fed beef extension materials for print and website.

These are only examples of possible topics as the priority listing would be developed by the coordinating committee.

Project Objective:
To develop forage/grassland extension materials not currently available through other agencies.
a.    Adapt successful extension materials from other areas to be specific to Manitoba conditions.
